999 Building architecture

999 Luxury Hotel is housed in one of the old and remarkable buildings in the center of the old town of Nafplio. It is located a stone’s throw away from Syntagma Square and between the most central busy pedestrian streets of Vasileos Konstantinou (Megalo Dromo) and Staikopoulou streets. The building has many peculiarities. It is estimated that its construction was completed in 1830.

It is an old building with some preserved morphological features. The first floor is built of stone. The second floor is made of “tsatma”, constructed rooms in a row through a loggia, which is still preserved in its original form. The staircase of the building, its place and form, was not saved. However, in collaboration with the 25th Tax Office of Byzantine Antiquities (E.V.A.) and after research, its form and location were ascertained and it was reconstructed.

The building is consisted of two three-pitched roofs with floating Byzantine tiles and a perimeter traditional Anapliotika frame. The internal mezzanines- pallets and floors are consisted of wood. The external traditional windows are wooden, typical characteristics of the old town of Nafplio. The half open jalousie shutters are reclining and rotating. The doors are wooden paneled with double panels.
